Unusual step of producing hardback and C format for first time author
Prompted by the delightful and unexpected order of hardback books by The Book Club Association, Oldcastle Books decided to also bring out a £10.99 trade paperback (Large C format version) before the originally planned £6.99 mass market version. They arranged an exclusive deal of C format books with Borders and Books Etc. for three months, in a pre-sale agreement. WH Smith also ordered C format for Airports, and due to successful demand, extended that order to train stations.
Waterstones normally refuse to take large format size from new authors, but due to popularity, the book ended up in over thirty stores, and towards the core list at head office.
